Botox
Botox in Wappingers Falls
Botox® relaxes the muscles that create lines when your face moves. It is a prescription treatment, so it starts with a licensed provider looking at how your face actually moves and telling you what is and is not worth treating.

What It Actually Does
A Neuromodulator, Not a Filler
Botox is used to temporarily soften the appearance of facial lines caused by repeated muscle movement.
It is the brand name for onabotulinumtoxinA, a prescription neuromodulator. Where a filler adds volume to soften a line, Botox relaxes the muscle that creates the line in the first place, so the lines it treats are the ones that appear when your face moves.
That distinction matters when you are deciding what you need. Lines that are visible when your face is completely still are usually a different problem, and your provider will tell you so rather than treating you with the wrong thing.
Where It Is Used
Areas We Commonly Treat
Three areas of the upper face account for most cosmetic Botox treatment. What is appropriate for you depends on how your face moves.
Forehead lines
The horizontal lines across the forehead that appear when you raise your eyebrows.
Glabellar lines
The vertical lines between the brows, sometimes called frown lines, that show when you concentrate.
Crow's feet
The fine lines that fan outward from the outer corners of the eyes when you smile or squint.
Your First Appointment
What Happens When You Come In
If you have never had an injectable, the not knowing is usually the worst part. Here is the shape of a first visit.
You talk through what you have noticed and what you would like to change
Your provider watches your face move, at rest and in expression
You go over your medical history, medications, and anything you have had done before
Your provider says whether treatment is appropriate, and what they would and would not treat
If you go ahead, you are told what to expect afterwards before you leave
Botox is a prescription treatment, so it is not right for everyone. There are medical histories and situations where we will say no, and we would rather tell you that at a consultation than take a booking.
Related Treatments
Often Considered Alongside
Botox is frequently discussed next to two other injectables. They do different things, and a consultation is the place to work out which, if any, applies to you.
- Dermal fillers
Add volume where the face has lost it. Botox does not add volume.
- Kybella
Reduces fullness beneath the chin. A reduction treatment rather than a relaxing or a filling one.
Before You Book
These are medical aesthetic treatments, so we start with a consultation rather than a booking. A licensed provider reviews your history and what you want to change, confirms whether a treatment is appropriate for you, and plans it around your skin. If something is not a good fit, we will tell you.
A consultation is required before any treatment is planned
Every treatment is performed by a licensed provider
Suitability depends on your history, your skin, and your goals
Individual results vary, and no outcome is guaranteed
